One Bedroom Cottage Conversion

Converting a historic workshop into a comfortable one-bedroom cottage.

After

Exterior renovations included leveling the floor, shoring up the foundation, fully sealing and insulating the building envelope, repairing original windows, adding additional windows where needed, and replacing all the redwood siding.

Interior renovations included the addition of a kitchen, bathroom, and powder room, the installation of a fully ducted HVAC system, vaulting the ceiling in the main living area, and reconfiguring the floor plan to create an open and livable one-bedroom cottage.

Care was taken to maintain the rustic, historic feel of the original workshop. All of the redwood paneling was saved and used to finish the interior walls where needed. The old workbench was repurposed as a kitchen island with ample storage.
