We make the renovation process simple, transparent, and collaborative—so you always know what to expect.

Step 1: Initial Consultation (Free)
We begin with a complimentary consultation to learn about your project, your needs, and your vision. This is also a chance for you to get to know us, ask questions, and see how we can best support you. Together, we’ll outline the scope of your project and discuss an initial timeline.

Step 2: Estimate & Next Steps
Within a week, we’ll provide you with a cost estimate and a more detailed timeline. For larger projects, we may recommend an initial scoping and conceptual design phase (typically 2–3 weeks). This ensures we carefully define the scope of work, costs, and schedule before moving forward.

Step 3: Project Kickoff
Once the plan is in place, we’ll kick off your project. Your dedicated ROI Renovations team will include:

• Project Lead (Barbara) – your primary point of contact, guiding every step

• Designer – ensuring the desired end state is thoughtfully planned from day one

• Contractor – managing construction and quality execution

• Specialists as needed – such as plumbers, electricians, roofers, or HVAC experts

Step 4: Ongoing Communication
From start to finish, your project lead will keep you informed and in the loop. We’ll be in regular contact and always available to address your questions, ideas, or requests along the way.

Barbara has been passionate about renovating homes and creative spaces for herself, her family, and her friends for more than two decades. Based in Santa Cruz County for the past 30 years, she brings that experience to local homeowners—helping to create inspired spaces that reflect both the natural beauty and spirit of this community. From transforming a primary bathroom to leading large-scale renovations, Barbara approaches every project with care, vision, and collaboration.

Barbara is a lifelong entrepreneur with roots that trace back to college, where she ran a hot dog cart—her first venture into the world of business. After an exciting stint as a journalist based in London, she returned to her love of entrepreneurship and launched a juggling ball company in Spain. A few years later, back in the U.S., she founded and grew a global communications consulting firm serving some of the world’s largest organizations.

She is also the founder of initiatives such as Living ROI, Family ROI, and The Enlightened Workplace Project, which extend her commitment beyond business—helping individuals and families lead more meaningful, goal-driven, and balanced lives.

With ROI Renovations, Barbara merges her entrepreneurial spirit with her renovation experience. At the heart of her work lies a belief that every space holds potential—and that thoughtful design and execution can enrich the lives of those who live within it.
